About the event
You have heard of Pitchell, right? Well, move over Pitchell, this is Bitchell. An out and back from Bull Gap to Mt. Mitchell on the Mountains to Sea Trail. https://www.strava.com/routes/2751546616552664466
The picture is from Lane Pinnacle - about 8 miles in.
The campgrounds will be closed at Craggy Dome and Mt. Mitchell, but there are a number of trail-side camp sites within a mile or so of Bull Gap. (Rattlesnake Lodge is probably the best winter camp site. WCPGW?)
There are a lot of options here, but we must account for the Blue Ridge Parkway being closed for bad weather, since Cassy and Jared are joining us. If we can get to Craggy Dome by car, then we can do a loop around Mt. Mitchell. This route is called Critchell. https://www.strava.com/routes/2751246460076763954
And, if this isn't hard enough for you, I have another route with a 5,000' climb.
